This Burr Puzzle consists of twelve identical
notched rods. Once the pieces are disassembled you will see why it is called
Lucifer’s Friend. It is a very difficult puzzle requiring advanced burr puzzle
solving methods. This puzzle is not appropriate for a person
inexperienced with Burr Puzzles.
Instructions, a series of assembly diagrams, are included.
This puzzle, while it works well, is not particularly well made from a
woodworker’s standpoint. Some of the pieces show “tear-out” at the ends,
indicating that they were cut too fast or that a dull blade was used. Unfortunately, these
cosmetic flaws diminish the “display” value of this very difficult puzzle.
